The origin of the museum dates back to 1975, when Antonio Felmer Niklischek decided to organize an exhibition of objects related to the colonization. Antonio collected historical material house by house, collecting everything from agricultural machinery to photographs that reflect that time of the second half of the 19th century in southern Chile. The museum has trilingual staff (English, Spanish and German) who, wearing traditional clothing, guide each group or delegation.
